So I get a call from my buddy last week...or the week before.  I can't remember which...time is flying.

Anyway, he wanted to rub it in he was going fishing.  Besides the rub he was curious if he had left his license wallet in my pickup from his deer hunting season.  I said I'd look for it and then he told me of this morning's events getting ready to go fish.  He put his fishing rods into his pickup and had the rear window down (for some reason).  He went to shut it and his rods had slid over...he crunched them pretty good.

Of course, I was jealous he was going fishing so I made fun of him.

Well, I get a call from him as he was anchored on the tailrace with a friend of his.  I don't recall how it went but I'm pretty sure I was getting grief back as he explained he was holding a 30" walleye that according to the boat scale went near 11 pounds.  Upon official weight it tipped the scale at 10 lb 13 ounces.

His first true trophy and a beautiful looking fish.

So enjoy...here's me wishin I was fishin.  I'm pretty sure the black hole of Van Hook (Shell Village) is wide open still...think I'll go see if the boat ramp is open and bring in the New Year that way!
