Have been seeing at least a couple a day in SW ND. Watched two through the spotting scoped chasing a group of 8 deer and singling one younger one out. They would take turns chasing it in circles. Eventually it made it back with the rest of the herd. I did get a shot at on of those 2 with my muzzleloader but missed.
1-3 everyday. Havent walked much, thats just what i saw sitting. After deer season the call will come out.

I think if everyone was really worried bout the population f yotes they would trap them and shoot them. trapping would be more effective for the fact the traps are there 24 hrs a day and you can cover sooo much more area.
While sitting at sunset one evening I distinctly heard 5 dens start up at sunset, could have even been a 6th or 7th within a mile from me. That's a pretty thick density of coyotes.
Only saw about 6 coyotes during shooting hours though, none of which presented a good shot.

Asked permission to hunt some land. The owners said shoot all the deer you want, just don't shoot any of the coyotes.
Sounds like he must have been running a meth operation. No one in their right mind would say something like that.
I would have to agree with you on that, i have never heard such a thing
Had the same thing happen to me also with a land owner that I know very well and he always lets me hunt and the reasoning behind it was mice and turkeys. The mice and turkeys are so thick in the area that he wanted the coyotes around to help thin them out...can't argue with that logic and definitely not a meth operation by any means.
