While I am a huge supporter in involving your family in hunting, I think it is &lt;u&gt;&lt;strong&gt;very&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/u&gt; crucial for parents to enforce safety even at a young age.&amp;nbsp; This includes making sure&amp;nbsp;your kids&amp;nbsp;understand the consequences of unsafe hunting and&amp;nbsp;following the rules of hunting.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I don't think that younger kids have an understanding that hunting is a priviledge that can be taken away.&amp;nbsp; In addition they need to have respect for the land owner, the land itself and for the wildlife.&lt;br /&gt;&#13;

It is great that young people have an enthusiasium for hunting, but the reality is that they are carrying a gun and they need to be prepared both physically, mentally and have a cautious approach.&amp;nbsp; I feel that 14 years old is the appropriate age to get started in actually carrying a gun and understanding the entire realm of the hunting experience.</description><link>http://www.outdoorsforher.com/should_there_be_a_minimum_age_for_unsupervised_hun#289805</link><pubDate>2009-07-23 08:24:37</pubDate><guid>http://www.outdoorsforher.com/should_there_be_a_minimum_age_for_unsupervised_hun#289805</guid></item></channel></rss>
