Roy Lake - Thursday, February 2, 2012

Report Details
As of Jan. 31 we currently have 16-17 inches of good ice, but there are still several danger spots (thin ice and open water). You cannot tell where the open spots were due to ice and snow on top. If possible ask first and use your spud bar as you talk in area. The fishing continues to be excellent for early morning and late evening walleyes. The perch bite is good one day and spotty the next, but lots of nice 10-11 inch perch can be caught. The pike bite is good on almost any lake that you try. The pike are in the bays and very active through the day. The most important thing about fishing the glacial lakes is safety first and be sure to obtain the knowledge were the most active bite is taking place. Just ask Jan or have coffee with her guide Gary.
