Potential Cat Track

Out hoofin' it my buddy Chris and I came across this track.  There were several in the area which was a perfect sun hit, rock riddled and lookout ledge over a creek bottom.  I could fit my thumb easily in the toe prints.  Chris found another track earlier on Wednesday that was freshly imprinted in the snow.  He said he could fit his fist in the pad indent and the toes were identical to this photo.  No claw marks around on any of the tracks.  Chris didn't take a photo.  Wish he did.

I think this track is a mom with her kittens as their appears to be smaller prints (not much smaller though).  Chris' may have been a tom.  All I know is I wish I had hounds and the season was open I would have told Chris too bad, so sad on his buck tag!

I sent this photo to the NDGF for confirmation.  If it is a cat track I know where I will be focusing a little calling at.  Or maybe see if a snow track can be found if we get some snow and dial up a houndsman!
