I know this topic has come up several times on this site, i just can't seem to find it. There was someting with shooting coyotes prariedogs etc out the window , or off the hood of a stopped vehicle, if someone remembers what the topic was or if you have the century code remembered, I would appreciate it. For god sakes there is BUSCH light riding on this deal.

If it's a coyote, set down the Bush Lite and grab the gun. Ask questions later

I have heard if there are no other critter seasons open, only furbearers, you can drive where ever the hell you want and you can shoot from anywhere you can get comfortable as long as you have permission from the landowner.
I will do more research.

I'm pretty positive when no other game animal season is open like said before, it is legal to shoot furbearer's and non-game animals out the window. You have to completely stop the vehicle, put the gun out the window, load the gun, and pull the trigger. Somebody can clarify if they know for sure.

In that order?

I guess I was half right....

21. Aircraft, Boats, Motor-Driven Vehicles

Aircraft, snowmobiles and motor-driven vehicles may not be used to kill, chase or harass wild birds or animals. In addition, aircraft may not be used to spot game and snowmobiles may not be used to flush wildlife.

It is illegal to shoot with bow and arrow or firearm while in or on a motor-driven vehicle.

It is illegal to carry a firearm in or on a motor-driven vehicle with a shell in the chamber. The entire cylinder of a revolver is considered the chamber, requiring the revolver to be completely unloaded. It is illegal to carry any muzzleloading firearm in or on a motor-driven vehicle with a percussion cap on the nipple or powder in the flash pan.

It is illegal to drive motor-driven vehicles off established roads and trails unless hunting waterfowl or cranes. Except for persons having a special disability permit, no person may use a motor-driven vehicle while in the process of hunting small game (except waterfowl or cranes) or aid another in the process of hunting small game (except waterfowl or cranes) including travel to and from a hunting location unless the motor-driven vehicle is on an established road or trail. Exception: A landowner or a lessee who actively farms or ranches the land, or a person having written permission from the landowner or lessee, may use a motor-driven vehicle off of an established road or trail to hunt small game except during the deer gun season.

That's the case for small game, not furbearers.  There is no such clause in the furbearer's regs.

Here's one of the topics where we hashed it all out.

Also while I do not recommend it, having a live shell in the chamber is legal as well for furbearers. Having said that it is time to go get the beer!!!!

In my lifetime I have seen fence row to fence row farming and the return of CRP and game to the landscape. Now we face again the prosepect of fence row to fence row again! Sportsman are our own worst enemy in that we fail to look forward and focus to much on the now!

If you want to be legal and safe, yes; if not, you can try it in any order you like

More importantly, which manufacturer has the best side mirror to use as a rifle rest? Ford, Dodge, Chevy, etc. ?

It is illegal to carry a firearm in or on a motor-driven vehicle with a shell in the chamber, so unless you think of a really creative way of shooting out the window at anything (deer, coyote, prairie dog, or pop can) you are breaking this law as I read it.

However, about 50% of hunters in this state don't think twice about breaking the law to get blood on their hands so you're in good company I guess. (This is just based on my observations over the first couple weeks of this season). I'm sure some of you guys are frequent posters here too. I swear it gets worse by ten fold every year...anything goes to kill shit these days. Out the window, over the limit, tresspass, cut fences, whatever it takes, and usually with kids in tow...the crap I see people passing on to the next generation just pisses me off.

Sorry, a little off topic, but good Lord if I continue to see this trend for the next three months of hunting season that I've seen during the first one I'm going to have assault charges filed against me before it's all over.

I could  not have said it better myself, thanks!
