Yeppers and I dont see it going anywhere but up. Tried to do a prepaid for the boat and neither of the two gas stations that I deal with will take a prepay and locked price on even 500 gallons this year, they said  the market is going to be getting increasingly volitial towards spring. It sucks!!! LOL

Have a friend in Michigan that was telling me gas there about month ago was 3.04 as of yesterday it was 3.79, I don't get how they can justify a 75 cent jump in that short of time period, this is the Lansing area

Odd, the price of crude hasn't done anything weird the past few days.

Gotta love some of the speculators out there, looking for any reason whatsoever to justify raising the price of a gallon of gas when the inputs haven't changed.  Just means more profit to them.

Overall, I am not very worried about the price of a barrel of oil.  Now if we can just keep the itchy trigger fingers of the local gas suppliers in check.

yup the local went from 3.29 up to 3.45  Not enough supply for the demand

solution   drill baby drill

maybe the other option would be build refineries.   or keep the price gouging  the biggest problem is the spectlators if some foreign country has a problem then the price goes up if they find a solution then the price stays the same.

Stop all commodty trading unless it is purchased at full value not the 15% of the value

It would do all some good to watch the wholesale pricing of gas. The recent events with the Iranians has pushed oil up and gas on the wholesale level $.25 from a week ago. Current trading today shows it currently at $.00435 at 11am.

Current price is $2.7365 and before Christmas that same price was trading at under $2.5000 so a rise at the pumps is not unexpected.

Supply and demand issues do drive prices but also future supply costs affect the future prices. When futures rise as companies buy ahead many times current wholesale prices rise as well. Futures are well worth watching in this in regards to planning.

A few years back one of the major airlines bought fuel for delivery months in advance. The fuel prices they paid where well under what the fuel was selling for when it was delivered. Many businesses that use a lot of fuels buy this way.

Speculating on future prices is and has been part of the cost.
In my lifetime I have seen fence row to fence row farming and the return of CRP and game to the landscape. Now we face again the prosepect of fence row to fence row again! Sportsman are our own worst enemy in that we fail to look forward and focus to much on the now!

People are speculating we will have a confrontation with Iran over the strait of hormuz.  There is actually ample supply of oil in the market right now.
