Maybe Weather This Weekend

I have heard more east and I have heard more south.  Something to keep the eyeballs on.

FOR FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY....A LONG WAVE TROUGH IS FORECAST TO ADVANCE ACROSS THE ROCKIES AND INTO THE PLAINS WITH A STRONG REFLECTION AT THE SURFACE MOVING FROM WYOMING / COLORADO TO NEBRASKA. THE DAKOTAS ARE IN A PRIME SPOT FOR ENHANCED PRECIPITATION WITH RESPECT TO JET STREAM DYNAMICS...IN THE RIGHT-REAR QUADRANT FAVORED LOCATION OF AN EXITING 100+ KNOT JET TO THE NORTHEAST...AND IN THE LEFT-FRONT QUADRANT FAVORED LOCATION OF A 100 KNOT JET STREAMING OUT OF THE CENTRAL ROCKIES INTO THE CENTRAL / NORTHERN PLAINS. THE GFS HAS A FARTHER NORTH TRACK AND AFFECTS ALL OF THE FORECAST AREA WITH SNOW DURING THIS PERIOD...WHILE THE ECMWF TAKES A TRACK FARTHER SOUTH...BUT STILL AFFECTING THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE FORECAST AREA. THE GFS HAS BEEN MORE CONSISTENT WITH THE ECMWF NOW LEANING MORE TO THE GFS SOLUTION THAN IT HAD EARLIER. THIS BEARS CLOSE MONITORING FOR POSSIBLE WINTER WEATHER HEADLINES NEEDING TO BE POSTED BY MID WEEK...FOR THE COMING WEEKEND. AT THIS POINT...STILL VERY EARLY...THE POTENTIAL IS THERE FOR THIS TO RESULT IN
SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS TO TRANSPORTATION.

Somebodys going to get snow-- reading their afternoon forecast.. looks like Northern SD and far Southern ND are in line for some snow-- followed by a dry and milder weather pattern setting up after this weekend.

Holy crap for white out this morning!   I drove a half mile and turned around.  Decided to wait until it's light out.  I didn't see there was even mention of this last night on NWS??  Did I miss it, or hadn't they mentioned it?

I honestly didn't watch weather forecast lastnight. Earlier there was mention of light snow. I think the wrap effect had a little more moisture tie in and it slid more south than thought.

Yeah do not think they expected around 4 inches according to the old forecast.  New morning forecast said areas of heavy to moderate snow possible.  Think this one just beefed up once it grabbed a hold of moisture and had the right lift.  I have about 4 to 5 inches in my driveway.  Or did...had to shovel it.  Traffic was interesting but I avoided all four way stops and made it to work in about the same amount of time is usually takes.  Lots of slipping and sliding!

Got a giggle when I watched a lady in a durango turn and flip a U.  As she was turning over toward me she was looking right at me with a horrible look on her face.  She slammed into the curb and regrouped.

The big storm is staying 'south' of North Dakota--- it can stay south too...

yes it is... looks like some nice mild bowhunting weather and muzzleloader hunting weather coming up... nothing better than late season bowhuntin weather--  get your ice augers ready~

That's how far some star is from us,the light we see from that star took 79 years to get here..got fri,sat and Sunday off,my sausage buck is getting processed ,going after my steak and chops deer this week...
