Little Bit About Ourselves...

I got an email about this site earlier today. I have been a regular poster on FishingBuddy now and then and I really enjoy the site for the advice and just straight-up entertainment. I have to say, though, that I'm pretty excited to have an outlet to discuss the outdoors with other women.

It looks like the site is relatively new, though, so I thought it might be good to get to know each other a little bit better. My name is Tessa and I currently live in Bismarck. I'm pretty new to hunting, so I'm always looking for forums on the best guns, clothing (which is always a pain. I've been fortunate that I'm short enough to fit the youth clothing, otherwise I'd be in a hurt-bag!), etc.

I've been pretty fortunate in the big game arena, but I have to say I really like hunting upland game. With the help of a few friends, we got together the first all-ladies team for the Kenmare Goosefest and had a blast. We definitely have a lot to learn!

I've forwarded this on to members of the Central Ladies Ducks Unlimited Chapter here in Bismarck-Mandan and hope they all help get this site rolling! Maybe we could take a card from the boys over at FishingBuddy sometime and all meet up in town sometime. Anyway, thought I'd introduce myself a bit and look forward to getting to know other members.

Thanks so much for your post Tessa!  We are happy to hear that women are glad to see a site that is geared just for them, which was much needed.

My partner, Joan and I have teamed up with TON and fishingbuddy.com to bring a site that is geared especially for you and all of your fellow female outdoors enthusiasts.  The site is very new, it just went up, and we have much more to post and share with you.  We will be adding education information, concealed weapons information, product reviews, recipes, and much much more!

You will be seeing a press release coming out shortly from TON and fishingbuddy.com officially announcing the launch of this site!

My name is Melissa and I have been hunting for several years.  I also enjoy hearing of other women's success as well as information on guns, clothing, and how-tos.

Thank you so much for your post Tessa and I look forward to hearing about you and all of your friends outdoors experiences.

Welcome to site!

Hi,

Thank you for visiting our site and sharing it with your group!  We are really excited to be developing a site just for women and think it is a long time coming!

I also love to hunt and fish and enjoy seeing pictures and hearing about other women's experiences.  This site is an ideal place for us all to do just that and to obtain other related information.

As Melissa said the site is still new but we have tons of information to add.  Please keep checking back and feel free to post your comments/suggestions in the talk forum topic.

Thanks!

Im really excited about this site also!  I live in the Bismarck area and enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, and just about anything that gets me outside.

Here is a picture that was taken last summer with an outdoorswoman friend. Carp slaying is a blast!

Tetta - dittos on the clothes!  I can fit into a youth 18 - 20 and I save a ton of money that way!   My kids are about my size now and I will get them better stuff if it will fit me as a hand me down when they outgrow it (it there is anything left)! Otherwise I get cheaper stuff until they quit growing...  I have short fingers and am small so I have opted for the youth shotguns/rifles.  They save me money and are lighter to carry too.  (Keep in mind, as with backpacking, your gear becomes a % of your body weight......a 200# guy can carry about twice what I can, but my ammo, binoc's and gear weigh about the same and my gun weighs almost as much.  As I get older cutting gear weight allows me to walk farther and be fresher for the next day (less muscle sore)!
Putting the Second Ammendment first - it protects ALL the other Ammendments!
