Report Details
Went out all day on the 24th and 25th for 8 hours each day. Fished right in bismarck from the eagles nest all the way up to the Heskett Plant. I have only caught 4 walleyes in the past 2 days and only 1 was big enough to keep. Really really slow. I know I should probably go up to stanton/washburn but thats a expensive trip. I am introducing my little nephew to fishing and this was not a good day for him although he had fun. I just want to know if anybody is catching fish on this stretch of river or are you taking a beating as bad as I am?? Haha! I am still convinced there are fish here I just have to find em? Any thoughts/comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Re: I would fish the desert or our of the rifle range if you want to stay close. Too many pleasure boaters out now and I think that pushes most of the fish out of the area.
IT IS BETTER TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS THAN ASK FOR PERMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re:I fished the Misty Water's area on Saturday morning....was very slow altho we did manage to scratch out 6 eaters....I say eaters because the size was small. Our best approach was to hit small fish holding spots and we would catch 1 or 2 right away and that would be it. The areas that held big numbers this spring did not produce. Probably be better off taking your nephew to McDowell or Sweetbriar so he can reel something in :) |
