Any suggestions on a bow for a new hunter. 

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program has scheduled one-day winter workshops Feb. 19, 20 and 21 at Lake Metigoshe State Park, Bottineau. A one-day ice fishing and darkhouse spearfishing class previously scheduled for Jan. 9 has been cancelled because recent snow storms have limited access to lakes.

Lake Metigoshe offers a variety of classes. A class on dog sledding is available all three days with a limit of six participants per session (this class fills quickly). Snowshoeing and tracking, winter survival and cross-country skiing are available Feb. 20 and 21, with each class limited to 12-15 students.

Women interested in the workshops should register immediately due to limited space available. The cost is $60 for dog sledding and $50 for the other classes. Take a class on two days and the fee is $90. Preregistration with payment is required. Equipment and snacks will be provided.

These PETA people never cease to amaze me at how far they are from reality... 

Animal activists at PETA are poking fun at Aerosmith star Joe Perry's manhood after the guitarist boasted about his love of hunting deer in a recent magazine interview.
 

The rocker told Outside Living magazine he loves nothing better than stalking his prey through the woods near his holiday home in New Hampshire, but his comments have angered animal lovers.
 

Perry, who also reveals he's an avid gun collector, said, "I don't shoot anything that I don't eat. Hunters are conservationists and their heads are in the right place. ... (Hunting) really gives you a great opportunity to keep in touch with reality."
 

PETA's senior vice-president Lisa Lange fires back, "People who take out their aggressions and frustrations on helpless animals are usually compensating for other shortcomings in their life.
 

"We don't know how Joe measures up, but it's interesting that he seems to feel so satisfied when he's handling long phallic-looking weapons."

There is a conceal carry class scheduled for Saturday, September 19! Class begins at 8 a.m.

Classes are held in Carrier Mills, IL at the Harrisburg Hunter's Club.

What is your favorite way to prepare fish?  Broil? Bake? Fry? Grill?

My preference is to either bake or fry walleye.  I have a couple recipes that I usually use for baking and frying and I also like to use Shore Lunch for fillets.

Five North Dakota towns made Outdoor Life's second listing of Top 200 Towns for Outdoors. Some people think it's a bad thing because they envision an influx of people moving here, but I always thought it's a nice recognition to get. They are:

One of our team members wasn't able to shoot this summer. Anyone else interested in shooting in a league in Bismarck this summer? I can't remember the details on the price and rounds, but it's once a week, any day you like. You can also shoot rounds ahead of time if you think you can't make it one week.
