yes there are, my understand it can't be booze and cigarettes. But they pay for that with cash and then swipe their card for the food.  So in effect, they are.

One of the most abused govt programs out there. I have a niece who got knocked up by a unemployed ex-convict and collects over $700 a month in food stamps. Doesn't make sense to me!!!!

the way the economy is in ND right now, there should be very few on welfare.  there are legit cases but there shouldn't be very many.   A state the size of ND, you should be able to personally inspect every recipient of the program.  And for gods sake piss test them and disqualify the dopers.

I've seen people pay for steaks and prime rib with food stamps and then have the clerk carry it out to a brand new vehicle.  Yeah, it get abused just a little bit.

You shouldn't be able to buy food that many people with a job who pay for thier own food can't afford.  I don't think that is asking to much at all.  Have a system like the WIC program.  You see all kinds of food in the store that is labled WIC approved.  If it isn't, you cannot buy it with WIC credits (or what-ever they use).  Make them buy common sense stuff and not extravagant crap.  Using food stamps to buy a whole cart full of twinkies or prime rib is an abuse - plain and simple.  I don't think that was in the intent of the program when it was developed.

If we piss tested them would probally eliminate half of them! If we prohibited cigs and alcohol most of the rest would be gone also! It's the liberal system that if your stupid or irresponsible than those that work hard and are responsible will pay your way! The problem, is there is too many on the system and they are allowed to vote, so then politician cater to them for that vote! It's a nasty cycle!!

They can order papa murphys pizza because its not cooked but cannot order dominoes etc.. Because they are cooked.

They should not be able to order ANY fast food etc. Fruit, vegetables milk etc. PERIOD!!
Wonderful Reagan quote that says it like it is! "It isn't that Liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so much that isn't so."

i have seen some of them get well more then a family of 4 can eat in a month  a nephew and his wife get close to 900 a month for 4 people put them on birth control and piss test them us tax payers dont need to support them

I agree with fishing farmer, but I think there should be a limit on meat as well.  Just because it is meat and healthy doesn't mean that they should be able to buy it with food stamps.  Fillet mingion, prime rib, lobster?  You can argue that they are not junk food, but should someone who cannot afford to feed thier family be able to buy this kind of stuff?  I have a bit of a problem with that.  Now if they want to buy sirloin steak - that would be ok.

they can't walk through the checkout and use their food stamps debit card for smokes and beer.  but they can walk next door and pay cash for those items, cash that they should have used to buy the food.  so in a sense they are using it to buy booze and smokes.
