Photo Description:

This buck is pretty special to me.  I have gained some permission and have a few acres to hunt on in southern cass county.  I've put in time and effort in the last year and this year to try and get a buck.  Any buck would work for me and I'm glad this one came around tonight.

I hunt a waterway in the shape of a circle (Oxbow) which is a branch of the Red River of the north.  I havent had many bucks around and as of the last two weeks after getting back from my MT antelope hunt, I had 5 good deer (To my standards) to try and harvest.  Well I can't hunt the land over rifle season, but before and after those dates I can try and make it rain.

I was out with a fellow FBOer BOWTECH at my stand and we didnt see much activity until the "withcing hour".  Low and behold this guy followed two fawns that must have been in early estrus right to the stand.  He was around for about 5 minutes until he offered a shot.  I was thinking I would get winded from the fawns and possibly the buck, but thankfully it didn't happen.  The buck stopped close and after him looking away at 10 yards I drew and 5 seconds later I hit my mark on the double lung scenario.  He ran 100 yards out of the CRP and died 30 yards into the neighboring woods.  I was pretty happy for my first whitey with the bow.  He is a good 5x4 buck that was well worth my time the last couple years!
