Or it could go from great to ruined for ever if carp find their way in there due to high water.

The higher it goes, the more trees there will be to fish!  The waves will also get bigger and allow us Yar-Craft guys rule the lake!

What is funny about Devils lake is I still catch more and bigger fish at dusk out of my 14 foot crestliner than I do out of a large boat.  Definetely cost effective.  I can spend big dollars on gas in my 19.5ft  crestliner and catch less in a whole day of fishing than one hour in my 14 at dusk.

I hope you are right! Unfortunately I think you are way off. Eventually I will have lake front property, then it will overflow out of Stump Lake and erode a channel heading south. Once that happens DL will drop two or three feet and we will know where we stand. I hope the people downstream are prepared cuz once it goes there is Alot of water that is going to be moving!

Mr. Mike I think I agree with your concerns.  The water goes from churches ferry to well east of Tolna.  It is just mind boggling and truly a phenomenon.

i think you are right mr. mike,  they are going to have a lot more to worry about then just spring flooding.  either way us tax payers are going to have to pay for it sooner or later.  the lake will keep rising, the water has no whereelse to go, once it gets high enough the natural outlet will start flowing.  until then i hope something is done becuase for now the big outlet (if ran all year will only take something like 2 inches off the lake) isin't going to move much. evaporation takes more off in the summer then that joke of an outlet.  just my 2 cents. i hope everyone stays safe this spring.

I agree ! Especially your last sentence! ; ) It's a wait and see thing, but once it flows it is not going to be good for anyone downstream! Just a matter of time. Fore warned is Fair warned from what I heard.
