Yeah you are right !    I would say its just a country kitty cat then. I dont think it has enough size to be a mountain lion.  Almost look calico in the photo?

Liger fosho. Ive heard they are fairly common in SE North Dakota. I guess they generally hang out in 1200 to 2000 square foot homes. Word is that they love milk, and hate getting wet. I could be wrong though.

A Lynx is not the same as a bobcat. A lynx is much larger, can get to 85lbs. A big bobcat is 40lbs. Not all bobcats have short tails either. My guess is bobcat. Just a guess don't get your panties in a bunch.

It is NOT a bobcat or a lynx!!!  If it was a mountain lion of that size (kitten/young young male) it would have spot/stripes.  I can't see those in the pic.  I had a LONG LONG talk with Big J on this pic (well he did most of the talking cause it was late) and I'm thinking NO lion.  It is forsure a cat.  Big tom cat is my guess.

Inconclusive.  Very small Cougar?  Cover yourself in that bait and wait for it , when it gets close, grab it and domesticate it and give it to your lady for Christmas.  Girls like stories with gifts and you'll have some cool scars to boot.  It looks mean, that's for sure so make sure and take your time taming it down.  you don't want that box under the tree exploding with a rabie'd cat of sorts.

The camera is low and that grass immediately in front of the camera is deceiving. The cat is well in front of that bigger beet in the back. Even Though the beet is farther away than the cat, it proportionately,  still looks to small to be a big cat. The cat also appears to be even shorter than the short grass between itself and the camera. Unless that littler beet in front of the cat is the size of a basketball, and that larger one to the right is a beach ball, I'd say it's just a kitty.
