Ice Eyes!
Some nice walleyes from Devils Lake.
Larimore Dam Walleye.
I caught this 25" walleye from Larimore Dam in April 2008. I couldn't believe it when it came in. I was going to release her, but she was bleeding pretty bad from a deep hookset from my lindy rig.
Nice Limit at Devils this last summer.
Nothing better than a limit of eyes on a nice ND day.
Alaska 08
A heck of a nice river run silver salmon cought on the kenai peninsula on our freinds private property. Wake up and cast!

Jody with a colorful male dolly varden from our "private creek".

Alaska 2008 - 03
I am glad we didn't have to meet the bear that made this track. This paw print was on an island somewhere on the Kenai River.
Alaska 2008 - 02
Dad with a Silver fresh from the ocean. This fighting machine(I have never seen a fish lit on fire until I saw dad battle this thing) was caught near the mouth of a river where it met the ocean.
Alaska 2008 - 01
A good way to start the morning.
Alaska 2008 Fishing
If you are thinking of going to Alaska, DO IT! The sights were were amazing and the fishing was even better.
Goosefisher with an icy suprise!
Snow Goose through the ice?
Carla's Perch

A few more eyes caught this weekend at Devils Lake.
Last Saturday on Devils Lake
Here are a few of the males that we kept on Devils.  These milkers went between 20-24 inches.   Also released 24" and 27" females that day.
40" Pike through the ice.
This fish was a team effort between a buddy and I.  I set the hook on his rod and handed it to him, he fought the fish for about 15 minutes while it ran and wrapped in his tip-up 80ft away.
Another 40" pike caught last summer.
My dad caught and released this pike last summer.  I grabbed him from the rocks without a net and dad had 6lb test.  He took my picture with the beast and I dropped him back in the lake.
A couple walleye's through the ice on Devils Lake
This last winter was my best in a long time for walleye fishing on Devils.  Here are a couple of the rewards for being patient.
27" CPR from Devils Lake
Caught this eye trolling #5 shad raps in 7ft of water.  Always nice to see white on the tail when hauling in a heavy fish.
35" Red River Cat
I went walleye and sauger fishing a couple weeks ago near the Red and ended up getting into some BIG cats.  I had 10 cats hooked up and I only landed one of them and got to see another b4 it

My dad took this photo by my hometown.  He said it it really stood out when he was driving by.
Last Weekend on Devils Lake.
We braved the cold, wind and rain to bag these fish.  I am just glad it didn't snow on us.
Shore fishing Devils Lake
Charlie with a healthy eye caught on a mimic minnow.
Shore fishing DL
Me with another beauty taken on a lindy and a leach
Shore fishing DL
Charlie, Lyn, Megan, and I holding our 17-22 inchers just minutes b4 they hit the hot oil for an afternoon fish fry.  Suprisingly we fished from 11am-1pm, weird time to catch nice fish.
20 eye limit on July 5th
4 of us went out on Devils Lake on sunday the 5th around 5pm for the fun of it.  Didn't realize we would have our limit by 7:45.  Trolling spinners and lindy's slow on 10ft made it happen
Two Nuckleheads on the Tailrace.
Goosefishmen and I went to "fish" the tailrace when they completely shut down the dam this spring.  Our "great" idea turned into one cold SOB.  The wind was about 30mph
Nucklehead #1
Here is a shot of me as I slip into hypothermia.  You can see how low the river is in the background.
A reward for bravery/stupidity
I caught this nice chunky little brown with an original floating rap behind an egg sinker.  It excited me enough to be able to feel my fingers again.
Turtle Mountain Troutin'
My GF and I had a blast with the nice weather and a few trout to cooperate up in the turtle mountains.  Here is a chunky rainbow trying to throw my hook.  We left the fish in the water to
Troutin'
Here is a still pick of Ronald the Rainbow.  What a labor day weekend.  Nicest weather all year!
Troutin'
Here is Meg with her first ever rainbow.  Not the biggest of the trip, but still quite respectable.
Troutin'
Here's another C&R we left in the water for a photo.  Nice rainbow #2 Meg!  The 10ft Jon Yacht made all this possible.
Troutin'
Gotta hate it when you get bad weather and a crappy campsight.j/k     What a weekend to be in the outdoors.
Troutin'
A great end to a great day in outdoors of North Dakota.
Anybody else got an itchy vexilar finger?
This should get the ice fishing juices flowing.  Should be less than a month now!
Couple of Ice Eyes!
I haven't tore them up on Devils Lake yet this year, but have managed a few descent outings.  Here are a coulple from the last week or so.
Ice Eye!
Here's a nice one for my fiance.
Descent Perch
Every once in awhile one of these little devils will come through.
14" VS 18.5"
Caught these 2 weeks ago.  Amazing what 4.5" can do.
First Limit in 2010
Almost turned into popsicles, good thing the fish action kept a guy warm.  Found some quality 15-20" fish that were biting on Devils Lake.  We had ourselves a good old-fashion fish
Crappie Quickee!
I had my niece's first birthday on Saturday, but I managed to sneak out while she was finishing opening her presents for an hour or so to a small dam nearby.  Managed a couple of these little
What kind of snake is this?
I saw this snake when a group of us were golfing Hawktree.  This sucker was about 5-6 feet long.  Kinda freaked me out when I turned around and it was about 10 ft behind me.
My old friend
Here is a picture a couple months b4 my old buddy Duke left this earth.  Man I loved that dog.  He was with me from age 10 to 22, I couldn't have imagined growing up without a dog.
New Pal
I picked up an English Cocker about a year ago.  Sure fun to watch em grow and develop their skills.
Surf & Turf
One of dad's walleye mounts and a friends buck mount.
Ice fisherman's dream trophy!
I thought dad had a huge crappie or nice walleye on and then.....................this thing came up.  I made him reluctantly hold it out for the picture.  All he could mutter was........one
Slimers galore!
A few folks I know went out for some pike action.  They sent me this photo.
Perchin' Dog
My fiance, my dog, and I went out to find some perch last weekend.  I told Rudy(my dog) to sniff 'em out and he came up with this spot.  It was good for a couple anyhow.
10 for the Lady and I!
This was a cold day on Devils Lake between X-mas and New Years.  It was fun watching her pull those eyes in...she outfished me that day.  I was too busy taking her fish off and baiting the
Walleye Seeds
I went down to TSC and bought a bag of walleye seeds to plant.  I figure I took some limits in the past so I better give back.
DL Perch
I guess I should have zigged instead of zagged.  I went and got stuck trying to get to a spot....then I get this over my phone after I am done shoveling.  I repeat, DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE OFF
Pickup Dog
Every once in a while the pup gets pretty spoiled.  It sure is funny when he lunges at the window when a crow flies up and he spins around to watch it out the back window with a wimper.
We had a HUGE pail.
I think our guide thought we requested to placed over the best walleye/sauger pigme hole.  That 16 1/4" looks like a monster in there.  These are LOW fish......and they said if they
You can't cry but you can Pout.
My buddy thought he could win big fish of the day with this thing.  I informed him it had to be a fish, not a mutant snake/eel thing...he was sad.
Ugly, but BIG!
Any thoughts on what this thing might weigh?  It looks like a bigmouth buffalo fish to me.  A friend cought this thing in the Missouri.  Looks like he got the prize for the ugliest
A very stout 27.5" CPR Walleye
Dad and a couple buddies took a trip to the Missouri.  Looks like he got the prize for the largest eye.
Day 1
Those lucky buggers managed a nice limit of 18-21" fish.  Wish I could have done 2 things at once and been there.
Day 2
Looks like the relatives and little old ladys will be trading their best foods for walleye again.  Nice work fellas.  Hope to be there next time......next time.  18-22"
First open water eye for 2010!
Made a brief excursion in the 10ft jon yacht on Sat.  I was out long enough to latch into this 23" female that went back to spawn.  Nice to be out with the long rod in hand.
At least I made it out for an hour.
From being sick and building a deck this last weekend was not providing me with a fishing fix I needed.  I managed to sneak over to Larimore Dam yesterday evening.  The smaller pike were
Big Whitey
We ran into a few white bass this last weekend on DL.  This is one of the larger ones we caught.  Just shy of 3 lbs.
Dad's monster largemouth
It was blowing pretty good on Sat. morning around Devils Lake so we went to a small lake that is protected pretty well.  Didn't catch much, but had to take a picture for the fun of it.
25" CPR
Dad got the honors for the largest eye of the weekend.  Seeing a large walleye come up to the boat always gets the heart pumping.
Saturday evening catch.
Dad and Jody showing off their catch.  The walleyes weren't jumping in the boat, but we got a few.  I lost the one I had on that night.
Sunday catch
Went out for a few hours on Sunday.  We thought we would keep some white bass, but we didn't catch nearly as many as the previous day.  I did participate in the walleye catch this time.
Another descent fish for Dad.
We had to work pretty hard for each fish caught.  This one came in th nick of time b4 it got dark.
Ode to the Bullheadmaster
I heard it was bullheadmasters birthday last week so I figured I would post this for a present.  P.S.  I went and picked up a padded envelope and sent the the little devil next day air
My 06 Antelope
I realized I have almost all fishing photos in my profile so I figured I would add some pics of my mounts.  This goat went 14 7/8 on one side and 15 1/2 on the other.  I love hunting these
My 05 Mulie
Here is the mount from my 05 mule deer mount from ND.  If you look close you can see the 25-06 bullet hole in his right antler.  I was a little off on one of my shots...I guess it was 400yds.
14" & 13.5"
A couple of the huge males that Bullheadmaster and I caught yesterday.  Lipping these things are like fishing for bucketmouths.....yowza!
I had pull out my harpoon and show Big J how it is done;-)
I tried to give the Bullheadmaster some pointers on going for the big ones.  He just kept going after the wittle guys
Quinn's first Rainbow
The fiance, Quinn(future step-daughter), and I went out for a little fishing in Fargo.  We caught some trout and some bullheads.  Here was the first catch for Quinn(she wanted a dollar for
Nice day to take a kid fishing.
I remember the days I got to go fishing as a kid(I was jacked to say the least).  It is fun to watch how excited a kid gets when you yell "fish on".  Good times.
Memorial Day Limit
Dad and I went out about 5:30 on Mem Day.  We goofed around until we found them and then we were done in less than an hour.  What a great day on Devils Lake.
Turtle Mountain Troutin' Part 2
Megan with a nice bow she caught on a crawler.  She keeps letting people know she outfished me this weekend.
Another chunky rainbow for the cap'n.
I managed to pull in a few myself this weekend.  The fish ran from about 14"-20", this is one of the better ones.
Another water shot
We wanted to catch and release the fish we caught so we left them in the water for most pictures.  We had a hard time capturing the pink hue of colors on them with the camera.  You can kinda
Ended the evening with a double!
We were trying to figure out when to quit for the evening and go grill some burgers.  Then Meg hooked into one and I grabbed my rod to move it out of the way and....fish on!  Ended the evening
Out last year with the new pup.
Rudy and I went out for a little grouse hunting to kick off his career.  He was happy to be out in the field
Rudy's first bird!
Rudy nabbed this wounded grouse trying to hide deep in the CRP.  I knew his nose was pretty good to find a sharp tail as they don't stink as good as pheasants.  Fun day.  Why am I already
A limit for pop and I
I can still taste these guys after they came out of the hot oil.  Nothing like fresh "eater" sized walleyes.
Troutin'
Megan with a couple rainbows we caught trolling cranks.  What a blast when the darn near rip the rod out of your hands and fly out of the water!
Meg and I
Out fishing on a great ND day......life is good.
Meg and her 'bow
We didn't catch Roberta or Randy the giant rainbows this time, but we had fun catching these.

Hey J, your not the only one that "hearts" RV-ing.
Dove Hunt 2010
Went out with the dog yesterday after work and found some birds in a couple canola fields.  Shot 7 and one was stolen by a hawk....oh that makes me so angry.  Then it started raining on

Whopper "Barkeye"
Captainnette caught the biggest one of the weekend.  A 32" Barkeye.
End of the season special.
Found a good deal on a 17' Lund tiller.  It was reason enough for me to buy it.
Perch in the Mornin' (Sunday fun day-Sept 12)
Went out in the morning to a dam that has perch and walleye.  Only caught a handfull of perch....witch was still fun.
Huns in the afternoon (Sept 12th)
After perch fishing I went and walked for grouse and partridge with the pooch.  Found a couple tasty critters.
Huns for supper (Sept 12th)
Threw the hun breasts in a quick marinade around 4pm and went for a coulee ride on my rzr.  Came back and wrapped in bacon on the grill.  Words can't express how good these things were.
Walleyes in the evenin' (Sunday fun day Sept. 12 2010)
Went out to another small lake that has a few walleyes in it for the last hour of day light.  I ended up catching 3 eyes(2 14-15 inchers and this fatty).  Yeah, I know the captain killed
Super Sauger
A sauger I caught on the Red.  The little guy faught like he was a lot bigger than he was.  I figured I had to post it for Jig-em cause he loves saugers.
First walk of opener
Rudy and I had a great first walk on opening day morning.  Ended up with 3 roosters in 4 shots and the little dog had a phenominal across the river retrieve and back up a very steep bank with

I caught this nice eater south of Bismarck.
Missouri Smallie
Dad caught this smallie just south of Bismarck.
Suprise Sturgeon
While fishing the Missouri on Friday I thought I had a good walleye on the line.  To my suprise this goofy thing came up.  Not used to anything but lake sturgeon, I went to grab his tail
Missouri River Perch
We were fishing down by the state line and I was caught by suprise once again by catching a perch on the MO.
Ice Fishing Contest
This was one of my best days last year.  Had my 5 in less than 1 hour.  It was cold a heck with a brisk wind and all fish barely had a chance to freeze b4 I brought out the camera.
First Ice Nov 21st 2010!
Well, I was a bit sceptical of ice fishing this dam on Sunday when it froze over on friday evening.  It turned out there was about 4 inches of ice to drill through.  Marked a couple, no
Safety First!
I ran a rope out with me to be on the safe side.  I went out alone, so I figured I better not die.  Just ran 2 ropes from my boat together.  I was suprised, the ice didn't even crack
Old man's 04' muley.
I found this laying in a barrel from a few years back.  I am dumbfounded why in the world he didn't do some kind of mount with these.  It looks just like the bone collector logo.
Another angle.
Check out the bladed tines.
Other side.
Another look.
Late Season Success
Drove down and stayed with Goosefishmen on Fri and we went out for some late season action on Sat.  We started the morning off a little slow with plenty of walking and 2 birds.  After a
Next Day Reward
Rudy and I went through the DQ on the way home.  Now he will never want to ride in kennel again.
Belize Dock Nockin'
Decided to try some dock fishing at Ambergris Cay.  Here's a goofy looking fish that the natives called a cow fish.
My first bone fish.
I caught this bone fish last night after we unpacked.  I thought for a second this thing was going to spool me with 10lb power pro.  These things run like a 15lb pike only a lot faster.
Red Snapper
These are supposed to be great eating.  I might keep a few tonight or tomarrow for the restaurant to cook up for us.
Not sure what these are?
Captainnette and I caught a bunch of these litte guys.
Pretty wittle guy
The colors on this little fish were absolutely amazing.  I almost ran a big hook through him and tried for a 'cuda.
The Lady with a Lady Fish
Meg with a lady fish from Belize
Night Fishing Belize
The locals called this a "Grunt".
Megan's Grouper
Megan caught a small Grouper this morning.
Captainnette's Needle Fish
This thing jumbed out of the water like a sail fish.  Jumped about 3 feet high 3 times.  I gotta give props to Clem as he was a great guide.
Snapper Slaughter
We absolutely killed the Sanpper this morning.  Both Red and Yellow Tail.  The bigger Red Snapper fight like a White Bass on steroids.  They will make your drag sing.  Music to
Lunch is served!
The wife and I brought some of our morning catch in for the restaurant to prepare for us.  Snapper is a very good eating fish.  Just ate it about an hour ago.
Back to back jumbo and slimer
Was an exciting 5-10 minutes when you pull a jumbo perch and drop your line down and expect another perch and then your ul ice combo gets a test.
Just a few Jumbos
A few nice perch on ice.
Wife's Euro Mount
Captainnette's Euro Mount was done by Christmas.  She was excited to hang it next to my mulie mount.
I had a little day dream.........
I love ice fishing and hope to go quite a few more times this year, but I can't help but think about this every once in a while.
Rainy River Count Down
The Rainy will be busting loose in about 5 weeks.
Photo Contest
Here is a pic from my visit to Alaska.   This morning the fog was very thick yet there wasnt a cloud in the sky.  Here is the sun trying to burn off the fog.  Very neat morning
It's a 'gill, no it's a perch, no it's a crappie...........no wait.........it's PAN MAN!!
I saw this guy out slamming the pan fish.  He looks familiar, but I just can't place him.  I assume he is among us, just like Clark Kent????????
ND Crappies
Took a quick trip after work to see if I could nab some crappies.  Got a couple and missed/lost quite a few light biters.
Perch vs. Snot Rocket
Here's a pic of a little football and a northern we caught on Sat.
Perch on a pail.
It was finally a nice enough day to fish outside on a pail and not be miserable.
A kid and his perch.
I took Big J's advice and took a kid fishing.  He was a happy kid after he caught this jumbo.
Rainy River Eye
Made a quick day trip up to the Rainy on Friday.  It was pretty slow, but managed a few fish.  This was the best one.  The old man had to fork over for the first and the biggest.
Ahhh, the smell of fresh crank baits!
I sat down and organized my crank box last night and had images of what they might catch in my head.  I also tied a bunch of spin and glo's for some lazy slow trolling.  Like Tom Petty said:
Crappies
I  Crappies.

32" Pike
I went fishing a couple small lakes yesterday and ended up with a handful of pike and walleye.  Here is the biggest pike for the day.  His runner up was a 30"er.
Ahhh the boat season is upon us.
Caught a few nice chunky eyes yesterday b4 it started raining.  Here is one of them as I released all to swim another day.  See you need high dollar electronics to catch fish, ha ha.
Too bad the season isn't open yet.
Big J and I ran into a couple bass too.  I was wondering what he was doing when he stuck both his hands in the water?  Then to my suprise he pulled these out with his bare hands.  Stunned,
The Pan Man at work.
Big J caught this crappie yesterday.  He knows how to catch these things and wears a nice Lund coat.
Walleye Wednesday 5/18/11
Took a little spin after work last night and found a few walleyes.
It's time to go fishing! 5/18/11
A couple of the nicer fish from last night.  I found 65 degree water in some of the shallow areas on the small lakes yesterday.  It is time to SLAY!
A face only a mother could love....
I was catching perch and crappies when this beast hit.  I ended up catching 5 of these things.  My best day of sucker fishing ever!  I have never caught more than 1 in a day b4.

Goosefishmen with a white bass worthy of the whopper club.
Bass Assassin
This man knows where some nice bass are and he can catch them.  Thanks again Dusty.
I had to whack a few too. 06/05/11
Very fun when you got a bass approaching 5lbs try to throw your hook.  We caught roughly 20 fish and some were might acrobatic.  Yeehaaw!
Western ND Trout
Had some business meetings out west and decided to sneak out to a small lake.  I found some pretty good rainbows.
Bonus Bluegill
Had the rod set for trout when this gill decided to give me a tussle.  Great fight from this guy.
Fathers Day Present
The old man was many miles away on a trip to LOW.  I told the big walleyes to bight dad's hook.  This one went 29.5".
See, I drained my livewell.
Went out to a small lake about a week ago and struggled most of the day.  Switched up bait and presentation for about the 5th time of the day and BINGO!  I fished until I ran out of bait
Devils Lake Smackdown
Enslow and I took friday off for some DL walleye action.  It was a brilliant idea to do this instead of working.  I let Enslow catch most of them so he would fish with me again.  We
Enslow's 27"
Enslow had big fish of the day with this chubby 27" that went over 7lbs.
Have you ever seen this before?
I had to take a picture so people would believe me.  2 snipes sitting on a wire.  I don't do drugs and hadn't had a single beer so I figured it was real.
Mixed bag of fun.
Took the boat out for a little puddle jumping yesterday and came home with some tasty morsels.  I even had a northern bite right across the side of a small walleye that I hooked.  He didn't
Captainnette beat me again!
Went out for some crappies for a short while last Sat.  The wife caught the biggest one.
Yellow Belly Prefishing
I had to go out to my local bullhead hole to hone my presentation for the upcoming big event.
Getting Bigger!
I almost have the technique down.  This was one of the bigger bullheads I have caught in a while.  Gillgetter can vouch for size.
Fun with the Crappies
Took the motorhome and boat to a lake I have have never been before here in the good old state of North Dakota.  Poked around on the evening of day one and found some crappies.  Then Day
I wonder if he knows he was catching crappies?
Here is Captainnette with one of her first crappies.  I called her the crappie queen because she was pulling about 2 to my 1.  Then I realized she was fishing for 2.  Maybe my son was
Nabbed a few.
Went out and pulled some worms and lindy's on a small lake and found a few willing to bite.
Beautiful day for some fillets.

Retro Fisherman
Here's a pic of my old man and my father-in-law after a successful day on a small lake 27 years and 3 months ago.  Gotta love the caps.
Check out this little guy!
I was on my way to work this morning and noticed some wild turkeys out of the corner of my eye.  I got close enough to take a picture with my phone.  One of the young turkeys was pretty
And I get crap for "the pose"
I was reading Greg S's report and had to point out his picture taking techniques.  I think he's even got me beat.
Perch Prowess 09/08/11
The old man set the hook into what he thought was a walleye or a smaller pike.  Low and behold a perch that approached 14".  I like the the response of big perch every time.  It
Enjoyed the day before a cold front 09/11/2011.
Managed to get out to a lake I only fished about 5 times in my life on open water.  We didn't quite make a 3 man limit, but the old man lost 3 nice ones near the boat, so we had our chance.
09/08/2011 Weekday getaway.
Went out to a small lake on thurs.  Smaller walleyes and a 13 7/8" perch.
08/28/2011
Just a one man limit of eaters.

Fall Walleyes! Gotta love it! 09/22/2011
Went out for some Red River action and was pleasantly suprised.  This fish went right at 25 inches and unfortunately I lost 2 eyes bigger than this one(both when the rolled on the surface).
Getting closer...............! 09/25/11
I got a chance to sneak away for some Red River action again yesterday.  I am looking to bust the 30 inch mark before freeze up.  This one went between 27 and 28 inches and weight approx
Third pig of the season! 9/26/2011

He didn't fit..........10/2/11
I snuck out to the Red for a couple hours last night and ran into this little guy.  A wee bit of a tussle on walleye gear.  The net is about 20" across for reference.
Missouri River Football Rainbow
Jody smashed my personal best rainbow with this 14.6 lb rainbow trout caught while trolling.  The trout was officially weighed and is going on the wall.  Awesome fish!
Very Nice Salmon For the Father-in-Law
Bob wrestled this nice salmon in and looks just a little happy about it.
A Nice Pike for the man as well!
Might as well catch another species while he is at it.
Dad with a good Sauger
Dad had to add another specie to the mix with this nicely marked sauger.
And a Nice Walleye to round it out!
Dad with a nice Missouri River walleye to add to the list.
Skinny Red River eye.
This has to be the skinniest river eye I have seen.  Went just shy of 24".
Big Cat
Went out with dad to look for some walleyes and this bad boy gave me one heck of a fight on my 6' 6" medium action rod.  It was a good 15-20 minute fight and the old man finally
My buddy and a nice Red River eye
Had to go out another time for some fall walleyes.  No monsters, but I nabbed a couple and I guess I should have netted the third fish for a limit.  Wasn't big enough at 23 inches in my
11/02/11 Fall Walleye & Buddy
Captainnette(Megan), Ahab Jr.(Fisher) and I went hit the Red up yesterday for a couple hours in the evening.  The little guy is over 10lbs already so I was hoping for one the same size as him,
Nov. 25th 2011 Red River pike.
I went and found some open water on the Red and missed a few sauger/walleye bites as they were not biting very aggressive.  I moved to another spot and caught a pike every cast.  I caught
Nov. 26th 2011 Huns
I was out trying of find a buck to wrap a muzzy tag around and ran into a nice covey of huns.  I had my buddy riding in the passenger seat so we chased them until we got a limit.
Ahh, a little itch out of the old hook setting hand. 12/17/2011
I managed to find someone to watch Ahab Jr. and was able to get out fishing for about 3-4 hours on Sat.(thanks Grandma)  Managed to find a handful of eater sized fish with a bunch of smaller

Ode to KDM.....
I figured I would snap a pic for KDM while I was leaving the ice.  I figured wrong brand, but what the heck.
Good X-mas gift
These knives are pretty darn neat(Leach Lake).
2 FBO'ers doing what what we love best.
Enslow loves to smack shallow walleyes as much as I do, so we decided to meet up to go fishing the Devils Lake area.  We drilled a ton of holes until we found them.  Then we giggled like
Captainnette's first outing of the 2011-2012 ice season.
Captainnette even made it out for a couple hours.  Enough to nab a few fish, while using my vexilar and catching the biggest fish.
Drayton Dam Pike
January 5th open water pike.
Throw Back
Believe it or not, this is Captainnette and I about 24 years ago.  Little did I know this cougar already had her grip into me.
Hhmmm, who's better looking?
Captainnette and I showing off a big pike from a few years ago.
This guy must like ice fishing.
I was open water fishing yesterday and scratching my head while looking at this ice house.
A couple nice ones
I picked up my dad and my uncle for a day of fishing and we had some nice family time.
I had to catch one too.
Gillgetter got best fish of the night as this one only went a little over 24".  This was my Red River wannabe sumo.  I let him go to grow 7-8 inches more so I can catch him in a few

A little one to end the day 1/15/2011
We were throwing back quite a few 13-15 inchers in favor of the 17-21's and a little blizzard was starting to kick up so we kept the next keeper to finish our limit.  This one was a little bigger
I got Sumo'd.
Bought this brand new St. Croix 36" medium action rod and strapped Plueger with Power Pro Super 8 slick last week.  Last night I caught a nice 16-17 incher and about a half hour later a
Sumo Wannabe
This has to be the fattest 23 incher I ever caught.  The pictured don't even do it justice.  I knew it wasn't the sumo that snapped my rod, but it was still interesting getting
Beer belly sauger
This is the chubbiest sauger I ever caught.
Crappie Day
Hit up a small lake on an incredible Super Bowl Sunday morning.  Caught a handful of these guys.
His 1st ice eye!

Gillgetter got the best one of the evening again.  This girl went 24" and swam away to get bigger.  Nice fish guy!
Whopperking scores with a nice eater!
After missing numerous hits, Whopperking connected on this fish.
What they eat.
Whopperking did some recon on these RR fish to see what they have been eating.  Kinda suprising!
Tomarrow nights supper will nice!
Went out to a lake I haven't ice fished in years.  Drilled about 35 holes in a handful of spots that produced during the summer months and found some fish for the pan.
Every little bit helps.......
I hope these give me an edge tonight after work.
Gillgetter scores on Wednesday fish night!
Slow bite tonight, but Gillgetter smacks the only eye.  His posing skills are improving drastically.
Saugeye?
Finally got back to sitting on a slab of ice after a week in the sun and landed this little guy.  By the markings I am thinking saugeye.
How many of these have you caught this winter?
Unofficial creel survey: I haven't fished for pike at all this winter, but I bet I have iced around 60 of them.  Lot's of pike to be had out there.
Sumo Green Back'n
The old man pulled in the first sumo of the trip.  She was 26" and went 7lbs 4 oz on the digital scale.
15 minutes later.....
About 15 minutes after the old man nabbed a sumo, I marked this girl that engulfed my live target and tipped the scale @ 7lbs 14oz and measured 27".  Not the 12-14lbers we were dreaming
Emerald beauty!
This wasn't a large greenback, but very pretty in the sun light.
Time to go Goose fishing!
Hey Goosefishmen, ready for another season?
Last ice for this cat. 03/17/2012
Here's a nice chunky eye to wrap up the 2011-2012 ice season.  Didn't have to worry about the line freezing with 65-70 degree temps.
Last Ice 03/17/2012
Bucket shot of a few that Whopperking and I nabbed.
Secret Carp hole
Went out to try my luck yesterday.  Low and behold this little guy gave me tussle.  I am glad the back ground is blacked out.
Good fight on walleye gear.
Went out bank hopping on the Red with Whopperking.  This 29-30 inch cat decided to test my gear.
Red River eye for Whopperking
Whopperking stuck this nice eater right at the end of the day.  I had to give him some crap because his hoodie pockets gave him a pretty good looking beer gut.  Ha ha.
Nodak hillbilly hand fishin'
Went to check a drainage dam and the suckers were running pretty heavy.  I nabbed about 6 of em with my hands in a few minutes.  My wife was laughing at me and snapped this shot.
Big Cat Mania!
I managed to land 5 cats from 17-20lbs on walleye gear yesterday.  The big gals are starting to chomp.  I put this one on the digital and she tipped it at 20lbs 2oz.  My forearms

Whopperking and I went and nabbed a few river eyes.  We each caught 2 and were hoping for a lot more.
After work fun times
Buzzed out of work a little early and hit up the ol' Red for a few hours with Whopperking.  We had a pretty good outing.  Some eyes, some saugs, and some cats.
The dirty stringer
Kept 5 for the fry pan.  Lots of light biting bait stealers as well.  There were 2 of us for the photo police.
A whiskery tank to cap off the evening
Caught a pile of these guys.  Definitely bringing more bait next time.
The lonely walleye
This walleye was wondering where his 4 other buddies were on Good Friday.  I woke up to some honking winds and tried to dump by boat in Six-Mile Bay just drive it back on the trailer with

Whopper for Whopperking
This was a nice fat female that went back in the drink after we snapped this shot.  Awesome fish buddy.
Whisker Wednesday as well!
I called this catfish Stubby.  The pick doesn't do him justice, but he went 18lbs.
A few for the knife
We had a lot bait stolen and tossed back a handfull of sauger and smaller walleyes looking for a nice 18-20incher to top off the limit, but we settled with 5 for the pan.
Hey little fella!
Was out and about and I saw a brown animal go into a bridge built by taking 2 telephone poles and some deck boards.  I walked down to check it out thinking it was a mink.  Here it was a

River Limit
Snuck away for some alone time last weekend and tried a few river spots.  Lots of sauger with a few eyes mixed in.  Took 3 home for the pan.
Ditch eyes
Hit up some overlooked spots yesterday and got a bit of a suprise.  It appears there are some males left at the tail end of the spawn.  I wish I would have went 2 weeks ago.
'Nother River Limit
Had a birthday party for Captainnette on Saturday afternoon, but the morning was so darn nice I buzzed out to ol' Red for a couple hours.  Came home with some nice fillets for the pan.
Dam Eye
Hit up one the local dams because it was too windy to head to the big lake.  Caught lots of pike and few eyes.  This was the best one @ 21.5 inches.  It had what appeared to be an old

Dumped the boat in at Drayton and went exploring with Whopperking.  We put some hrs on the new motor to get her broke in and found lots of fish in the process.  We had 3 scoops of fatheads
Ahab Jr. says hi to a 15" river eye
The wife and our little buddy went for a little river run.  Caught lots of small-medium size sauger, cats, drum, and few descent eyes.

I headed over to Devils Lake to meet up with a couple old guys(hi dad).  We woke up to one miserable day on Sat.  Wind blowing, raining, and temps in the upper 40's.  We basically wasted

Bingo.  I have a pup from the same dam - - whelped in January 2010.  She's growing up fast - - and oh so fun.  She's my 2nd English Cocker and I'm expecting big things from her....  Nevertheless, she's already a huge part of the family and is coming along nicely.
