well i found some blm according to my gps, that is posted, that's why i am trying to see if it is like state land where if it is posted nobody can hunt it, or what the deal is. I was always under the ASSumption it was open then i seen it posted thus the dilemma.

Guys, not sure what happened as I was in the middle of typing this post when all of a sudden, it posted 20+ replies and I wasn't even done. Really strange.

Please send me the GPS coordinate or coordinates either in PM or email, and let me check if anything has changed. The version of NDTRAX you have is 2.6. There were a few federal land changes recently, so let me see if these apply. Thanks.

One other comment in general is no matter if it is the PLOTS Guide, NDTRAX, BLM Map, Grasslands map, etc, it is a good rule of thumb that the map is only as good as the last time the base data was updated.

It is entirely possible there has been a change and the Game and Fish haven't been notified or had a chance to update/refresh the data so if something is posted do not enter.

If you really believe someone is trying to post land they shouldn't contact your local game warden. There are even people who post other people's land illegally without the land owner even knowing about it. If you do want to approach this yourself, look who signed it and graciously contact them and inquire if this section of land is BLM as you were led to believe.

I am pretty sure I know what you are talking about.  Elkhorn sign up on it?

I think both NDTrax and the Grassland maps show it as BLM but like Korey said, a person must not use those sources as gospel.  What a guy will have to do is call the country recorder's office and make sure some sort of land swap or something didn't happen.  I planned to do that but I spaced it out until you jarred my memory.

I would have to look on my map to get the legal land description and the GPS for the coordinates.  If you can get to them quicker I'll make the phone call as I have been curious the last couple years.

I found the area you are talking about on the NDTRAX map. I pulled an older version map and the newer version, hoping to see a difference in BLM land on the new one and I don't see any difference right around this area. Tim is probably the best person to check this out  to see what the current land status is so I will let him run with this. If there is to be a change, let me know and I will modify NDTRAX.

Thanks
