Re:antler color depends partly on the amount of oxidized blood left over from velvet shedding and partly on a chemical reaction between the blood and sap from plants on which the antlers are rubbed.
There's a big guy in my hunting area that is pretty much all white like that too. Sometimes what is going through your head, should stay in your head! |

Re:Deer was shot during archery. Was not recovered until days later. Velvet was rotting and stripped clean. It was actually posted in gallery earlier this year.
