Been fishing up in the turtle mts. for over a week...6 inches of clear blue ice. Might even drag the shack out this weekend.

I'm right there with ya!  I'm going to watch the weather closely, and if the barometer cooperates early next week take a day or two off.

I've been on some local lakes since the 20th. Just looking to hit some bigger water.

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

I was going to ask you sometime if Scheels stole your handle design.  It is showing up on a few ice rods this year.  You have been using that design for a few years now.

Are the Bismarck area small lakes frozen over enough to walk out? I'm never brave enough to be the first to venture out.

How much ice is safe enough for a 500+ pound motorized cart that is strapped to my backside?

PS: I am a chicken on ice, I don't float very well…

I would say a minimum of 6 inches.  I had a confirmed report of guys driving pickups on one lake last weekend.  Talk about numbskulls if you ask me.  They claimed 8+ inches.

that thing floats doesn't it? You will probably be sailing with the captain anyway....morgan that is.

in all seriousness I would not push it if I were you. the ice looks like crap now too. I drove from Fargo to Bismarck today and the ice was gray and scary.

Just go the the sparetime until New years

Go big or go home
